Call for Nomination: DigitalFilipino Web Awards - Search Profile Index Top 100

A lot has change with the way web sites are being perceived and how it's valued. As Filipinos primary Internet activity today is to search and interact through social networks, high quality websites filled with relevant content and its attractiveness for social media sharing influences which websites matter more than the rest.

Recognizing this, we are making a shift with DigitalFilipino Web Awards this year by doing a co-branding with Search Profile Index. In the process, we are doing a scan of local websites in 50 to 100 categories to create the DigitalFilipino Web Awards - Search Profile Index Top 100 list.

Winners of this award will be recognized on November 24, 2010 at the 2nd DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit at Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City.

Judging criteria includes:

• Search engine competitiveness
• ranking on popular category keywords
• website traffic stickiness
• Technical performance
• Social media engagement

Much of the above will utilize available paid tools to generate the report that shall serve as basis for the awards. The process and findings shall be explained at the event proper prior to formal recognition of winners.

Should you like your website to be included in our tabulation, just post a comment on or before November 16 and give your website url. Note however that our tabulation is not limited to websites submitted in this comment form. Winners will be contacted from November 17 to 20.

DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards 2008 to be launched soon

The DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards 2008 shall go live soon to start accepting nominations freely from the public in more than thirty categories. All entries shall be judged by members of the DigitalFilipino.com Club as part of its advocacy in learning and promoting e-commerce as a tool for business development.

We aim to advocate the use of Internet and e-Commerce for business development, through the identification, promotion, and highlighting of best e-Commerce practices from various websites in the Philippines.

Websites in over thirty categories will be reviewed and judged for their ability to create a noticeable presence on the Internet – their ability to be seen and heard among all the noise and clutter of the Net. Commercial websites will also be reviewed for their ability to conduct e-Commerce in simple yet professional manner.

All entries are nominated by the public as well as from industry, and will be judged openly by members of the DigitalFilipino.com Club. We will use the lessons learned we got last year in shortlisting and evaluating the entries that will be submitted this year.

It is hoped that through the promotion of outstanding websites and peer review process while judging, will give us a better understanding on the benefits of the Internet as well as the various ways in which e-Commerce can play a vital part in business development.
