The following schedule shall be observed for the DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards:

October 1 to 26: Nomination period
October 27 to 29: Judging workshop and online coordination
October 30 and 31: Winners notification
November 5: Winners Announcement

Call for sponsors

The DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards is an experimental project of the DigitalFilipino.com Club. We want to provide a means for websites to be nominated by peers and be judged by your everyday Internet user/consumer.

Instead of a typical awards ceremony, we will hold a whole day activity where sharing of best practices are made. Winners are informed in advance so that they can prepare in sharing their lessons learned during the event to enrich the learning experience of our club members.

Moving to a new nomination platform

The DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards 2008 will be moving to a new platform and be launched this coming week. This blog will be used to give updates on what is happening with the awards.



We are now making a call for sponsors and will be posting an update once the call for nomination is open.

DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards 2008 to be launched soon

The DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards 2008 shall go live soon to start accepting nominations freely from the public in more than thirty categories. All entries shall be judged by members of the DigitalFilipino.com Club as part of its advocacy in learning and promoting e-commerce as a tool for business development.

We aim to advocate the use of Internet and e-Commerce for business development, through the identification, promotion, and highlighting of best e-Commerce practices from various websites in the Philippines.

Websites in over thirty categories will be reviewed and judged for their ability to create a noticeable presence on the Internet – their ability to be seen and heard among all the noise and clutter of the Net. Commercial websites will also be reviewed for their ability to conduct e-Commerce in simple yet professional manner.

All entries are nominated by the public as well as from industry, and will be judged openly by members of the DigitalFilipino.com Club. We will use the lessons learned we got last year in shortlisting and evaluating the entries that will be submitted this year.

It is hoped that through the promotion of outstanding websites and peer review process while judging, will give us a better understanding on the benefits of the Internet as well as the various ways in which e-Commerce can play a vital part in business development.
